Kickin' it in Nuevo Vallarta!
Hola amigos!
OK so first I must let you know that when you sign into blogger in Mexico... It's all in Spanish!!!! Hahahaha! Good thing I know my way around so I don't have to count on the button labels...
So my trip has been super so far! I guess I'll give you the run down from day one...
Day one:
Kayla and I left Kamloops at 3:05 We arrived at 4ish and got to our hotel after 5... We ordered pizza and went for a swim... It was nothing crazy or terribly exciting... We then went to bed WAY to late...
Day two:
We woke up at 3:00 AM because Kayla's dad called... (I'm still unsure of why...) and then again at 3:30... We truly got out of bed at 3:50 packed up and headed to the lobby to catch the 4:30 shuttle to the airport. We checked our bags and waltzed through customs with no problems and by 5:00 we were sitting at an enormous window looking out at the tarmac (but we couldn't see anything cuz the sun had yet to rise!!!) with my starbucks and a bagel...
At about 5:30 we bored the plane, or tried to but I, along with half of the other passengers had to verifiy our passports with the flight desk... After that I got on the pane taking us to San Fransisco... So we arrived and sat in the airport for about 30 min and then got back on the same plane and were off to Puerto Vallarta! We got here at about 2:45 Mexico time so 12:45 your time. We had to get a taxi to our hotel which was quite the adventure... Our driver Percheco( Kinda spelled phonetically...) sang to us in Spanish! hehehe it was very nice. So we were here at about 3:30 and our room wasn't ready so we went down to the beach and ate... we were FINALLY in our room at 4:30, and it is nice! A huge bed for Kayla and I to share and we have a pull-out couch. Becky might stay with us one night... I hope... So we got settled, explored a bit, I got some paseos and we went grocery shopping. Thats mostly it for friday night...
Day three:
Saturday we slept in and then we hit the beach! We went in the water and it wasn't too cold so Kayla and I boogie boarded a bit. Then we got henna tatoos and sun dresses... After we went in the pool... Well I went in the pool... Kayla was looking for our friends that were coming... She found Michelle (Becky's sister, Mandy's bridesmaid) and then took her to use the internet so she could email her sister. Then I got out and showered and in the mean time... She found Becky! Yay! So now we were all here. So saturday night we went to a resturaunt like Rainforrest Cafe but it's called the Jungle. It was pretty cool! Everyone is soooo nice here too! So after we just hung out in the room.
Day four:
Kayla made an appointment at the Spa and so Becky and I hung out pretty much all day... We were at the beach then I got 2 more sun dresses (hehe! Well the people come right to you while you lay on the beach! It's the best shopping ever!) Then we played some beach volleyball. We then went to see if Kayal was done and she wasn't in the room so I just showered and then she was back. This night Kayla and I went to the most amazing resturaunt! It was called Brazil or something and you sit down order a drink and then they just start bringing you food! You don't get a menu but it's all sooooo good! Just like a bunch of salads at first then then cooks come and have a different meat on a spit-like-apparatus and they just cut some off on to your plate! it was really cool! AND, it was better and cheaper than the buffet dinner at the main resort resturaunt! Thats mostly it for sunday.
Day five:
Yesterday Kayla and I went to Bucarias(?? spelling) and shopped in the market, which was kinda like Guatemala, then we came back for like 10 mins and left to go on a Jungle tour! It was WICKED! We started it with a 45min ride in the back of this truck, Kayla and I foolishly thought we could eat our Nachos on the way! Well this ride was wild and we were whiped around a lot, but sooooo fun! We were with a group for 12 people from Minisoda and they were cool. So when we got there we got our gear on (rock climbing equipment essencially) and then listened to how this was gunna work. Our guides were sooooooooo great! (We bought the video so you will see!) And so we climbed to the first platform and it was zip-lines from tree platform to tree platform! SOOOOOOO FUN! Kinda scary at first but awesome! Then there were some hanging bridges and more zip-lines, a tarzan swing and at the end we had to repell down to the ground! Kayla had to go first! ( She is kinda afraid of heights) It was fun though and we both loved it! If you are ever in Puerto Vallarta and area I recomend the Vallarta Adventures Canopy Tour! So after then we were wiped! Soooo tired! So we came home showered made some calls and went to bed.
Day six:
Today! Well I've barely done anything yet, just had a bath this morning (I am a little stiff and soar... but mostly better after the bath) and now I'm here blogging! The pics won't work so I will try again later but if not the I'll add some when I get home. Tonight is the wedding so that should be fun! I'll tell you about it tomorrow because Kayla is going somewhere with the Zingers and I didn't wanna do it so i'll have some more alone time to blog, check email and play EQ (maybe...) Anyways, Mexico is wonderful and I am not even burned yet! So I think I'm gunna go work on that right now... You all have to be able to tell that I was in Mexico when I return (tanned and freckled!) But I'm good with my sunscrean so I shouldn't be burned really... Alrighty then, see you all soon! Love ya!
